Rescue a Siberian husky?

Rescue dogs come in all shapes and sizes, breeds and mixes.  I’m sure you have come across a variety of rescue organizations in your day to day life.  Did you know there are rescue organizations for purebred dogs, too?  I’ve done fundraisers for Golden Gate Basset Hound Rescue and Bloodhounds West Rescue with my friend Pam.  I’ve also looked through pages of labs on the Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue sight.

This morning, as I was walking my puppy I ran into my friend Pat.  Pat fosters dogs in her home through BASH (Bay Area Siberian Husky, http://www.bayareasiberian.org/aboutBASH.html ) My dog Basco had a great time playing with Gabe, Pat’s foster dog.  He is so handsome; I can’t believe someone hasn’t taken him home yet.  Pat, and all the foster parents at BASH, is very particular about who gets to take one of their dogs.  This is understandable because you want these dogs to go to a home that is well suited for them and their particular personality.

BASH has been finding homes for lost and abandoned Siberian huskies since 1987.  When you adopt a dog through BASH, they provide you with the resources you need to keep your new family member happy and safe at your home.  They are a wealth of information and training tips to help you understand the temperament of the Siberian Husky breed.  There is an adoption fee that covers the costs of vet visits, spay/neutering and shots.

If you are interested in getting a Siberian Husky, or any type of dog, it is highly advisable to read up on the breed and their temperament.  It is important to know that their personality will fit in with your lifestyle.

If you’d like to find out more about Gabe, please check out his resume and YouTube video at http://www.bayareasiberian.org/dogsForAdoption.html .  Let’s all hope that Gabe finds his forever home soon.

Furever yours,
